An RSS feed (an acronym for Really Simple Syndication) is a way of publishing regularly updated content on a website to a feed that's viewable from a client. This means that you don't have to visit the web site to view the latest content.
A feed can also be known as an XML feed or a web feed.
1. Using the URL links below (e.g. http://feeds.feedburner.com/UkGridNewsFeed?format=xml) you can load and subscribe to a feed in an RSS capable browser.
2. You can view a feed from any browser (e.g. Subscribe in a reader using Feedburner) as our feeds have been published on the Internet using Feedburner.
3. You can load a feed into an RSS web news reader (e.g.
) by clicking on the icons of the more popular RSS readers below - simply click on the icon to load the relevent feed into the reader.

When you access a page that uses RSS feeds from a supported browser, you will see the RSS icon change
colour
This means that RSS content is available. If the icon has a star in the top corner then this means that
the RSS content has been updated. To view the content just click on the icon. If you have already
subscribed to the feed then check your favourites folder.
You can also configure a RSS news reader to behave in the same way as a browser and check for updates to a RSS feed periodically.
