At UK Grid we provide a range of colocation solutions to suit all requirements from a dedicated quarter rack to single and multiple racks within single or multiple UK Grid colocation facilities.

Full rack colocation: 48u of carbon neutral business certainty

We'll provide the cabinet, power, cooling, security and the connection to your desired connectivity provider - we'll even install your blanking plates.

Every single rack is fed from at least one individually monitored power supply fed from our resilient electrical infrastructure and enjoys complete protection against factors that could otherwise cause downtime to your server hardware at data centre level. Further redundancy and features are readily available such as dual or three phase power supplies, bespoke security, rack mounted CCTV and copper or fibre cross connects to your connectivity provider. This is your technical space and we will help configure it to suit your exacting business requirements.

Power, temperature, humidity and all other variables that could impact your rack space are monitored by our 24x7 Network Operations Centre, with expert resources available to respond should they need to. Access is available 24 hours a day with secure access procedures and a permanent security presence getting the right people in while keeping the wrong people out. From a single rack to several racks in contiguous space on a bespoke growth plan, we can provide the ideal colocation solution with the perfect technical platform for your critical server equipment.

Half rack colocation: 22u colocation solution

UK Grid can supply 22u half rack solutions within one or more of our four UK colocation facilities.

Your half rack, depending on your requirements, will be either shared or physically separate from any other client equipment in a dedicated compartment with front and back lockable doors. Individually powered from a 32amp breaker and closely monitored for environmental factors such as temperature and humidity, a half rack is a perfect colocation solution if you don’t need all the space provided by a full rack. Owning your own half rack ensures you control all access to your own technical space and maintain total management of the servers inside. UK Grid may also be able to offer you an upgrade path to a full rack further down the line.

You will be provided with a wide choice of connectivity options due to our carrier neutral approach. Power will be included within your standard monthly recurring charge as will 24x7 support time, 24x7 access and all the standard benefits of colocating in a UK Grid carrier neutral, carbon neutral UK colocation facility.

Quarter rack colocation: smaller in scale, huge in value

Our entry level solution is a 'quarter rack' dedicated cabinet providing 10u of colocation space in one of our UK colocation facilities. Your quarter rack will be physically separate from all other client equipment in a dedicated 10u compartment with front and back lockable doors. Individually powered and monitored, a quarter rack is the next logical step from 'shared colocation', where multiple clients would typically share a single rack without benefiting from separation or individual control. Owning your own quarter rack ensures you control all access to your own technical space and maintain total management of the servers inside.

Power will be included within your standard monthly recurring charge as will 24x7 support time, 24x7 access and all the standard benefits of colocating in a UK Grid carrier neutral, carbon neutral colocation facility. As well as an entry level solution, our quarter racks are perfect for offsite backup and disaster recovery solutions and also offer connectivity providers a private location to expand their network and host telecommunications equipment in a leading carrier neutral UK colocation facility.
