ISO14001 certified, UK Grid strives to reduce its impact on the environment from its data centres and does so through a number of routes. Such routes include Cold Aisle Containment (CAC), Inverter driven cooling solutions, use of blanking plate technologies and the implementation of Chloride energy efficient UPS systems running at near unity power factor.
All these technologies have enabled UK Grid’s Synergy House to reduce its PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) to <1.35.
UK Grid not only has utilised cutting edge technologies to reduce operational power consumption, but has also made a vested effort to reduce its carbon footprint by planting 100 acres of forestry on its farm in Scotland in anticipation of its current and future power draw and resulting CO2 emission.
Manchester One @ Synergy House is one of the first data centre’s globally to achieve such a reduced carbon footprint and has achieved the following milestones:
Many organisations claim to have a ‘Green Policy’ but at UK Grid we put our efforts into tangible, meaningful projects which have a positive influence on our world, and by partnering with UK Grid you can do the same.
