The engineering skills include running patches, structured rack-to-rack copper cabling with patch panel termination, and full cabling design service.
UK Grid's engineers can also run fibre patches, carry out splicing and structured rack-to-rack fibre installations and testing. All cable installs are carried out via structured cable trays, logically placed along the floor of the Data Centre to ensure that all cable installs are organised and secure.
All UK Grid installed client cables are labeled and logged to provide instant recognition to where the cable terminates.
